MXM’s Debut
MXM stands for “MIX & MATCH” which means that their qualities and abilities will combine into one. MXM also has another abbreviation, “MORE X MORE” which holds the meaning of and symbolizes how they will grow up together. Previously, the two MXM members were contestants of Produce 101 Season 2. After the show ended, Donghyun and Lim Youngmin were promoted as members of the Brand New Music duo named MXM. They officially released their first mini-album Unmix on September 6th, 2017. Unmix consists of 7 tracks, two of which are “Good Day” and “I Just Do” whose titles were revealed even prior to debut. The main track is “I’m The One” and the mini-album was so successful that it immediately managed to snatch an award from the Gaon Chart Music Awards, namely the Artist of the year (Album) Award. “I’m The One” is an upbeat Pop EDM song with some captivating lyrics and a catchy melody. Donghyun can produce songs and is good at playing the guitar. He has a twin brother and according to him, his brother has a personality that is completely opposite to his. Autumn is his favorite season. His nickname is Buffalo. He also has an older sister. Among the many kinds of flowers, Donghyun has chosen the rose as his favorite. When Donghyun participated in Produce 101 Season 2, he was eliminated in Episode 10. He can play the guitar and compose music. Donghyun trained for 11 months. Donghyun and Jeon Somi are best friends; even when he participated in Produce 101, she supported him and asked people to vote for Donghyun. Not only he is an MXM member, but on March 11th, 2018, Donghyun debuted with YDPP along with Youngmin, Lee Gwanghyun, and Jung Sewoon. Donghyun also joined and debuted with AB6IX.

MXM’s Lim Youngmin’s Facts
Youngmin has a younger brother who was born in 2002. Tulips are his favorite flowers, and autumn is his favorite season. He was born in Singapore and used to live there, but after 5 years he moved to Busan, South Korea. He was trained for a year and two months. Youngmin was a contestant of Produce 101 Season 2 and he was eliminated in Episode 11. He likes basketball and swimming. Youngmin can write rap lyrics and play the piano. Tomato and Alpaca are his nicknames. He debuted with AB6IX alongside former Wanna One members Woojin and Daehwi. Before Youngmin become a contestant of Produce 101 and debuted with MXM, he used to be a back dancer and was also a member of BNMBoys. Before joining Brand New Music, Youngmin was a trainee of JYP Entertainment. Even though he had a hard time as a trainee, he never gave up on it. On May 31st, 2020, Youngmin was caught by the police because he was drunk while driving. At that time, he met his friends and they were drunk, but due to the tragedy, his driving license was revoked by the police. Youngmin admitted his mistake and apologized through a letter.
